- Acupuncture
A form of Chinese medicine, acupuncture has many beneficial effects on the horse, and is used as an adjunct treatment for a number of medical conditions, or even just to improve overall comfort and performance. It decreases inflammation, helps to relieve pain, and restores the body's energy balance.
- Electro-acupuncture
In addition to inserting needles in key acupuncture points, veterinarians can enhance the effect of these needles by stimulating the points with small doses of electricity for 15 minutes.
- Aquapuncture
Just like electro-acupuncture, aquapuncture increases the effect of the therapy. This technique consists of injecting small doses of vitamin B12 intramuscularly in key acupuncture points.
